CAVs

LeBron completed a Cavaliers weekend of MVP awards on All-Star Weekend by putting this year’s All-Star MVP award on the shelf next to Daniel Gibson’s award from the Rookie-Sophomore Challenge on Friday night. LB almost posted his trademark triple-double with 27 points, eight rebounds, and nine assists as the East avenged a 21-point thrashing from last year with a 134-128 victory on Sunday night in New Orleans.
Ray Allen led the East in scoring with 34 points, and although his three straight 3s in the final 3:15 helped put the game away, it was LeBron’s monster jam through three guys that put the capper on this one. LB blew right past Amare Stoudemire before crushing it hard right in Dirk Nowitzki’s ugly mug in the last minute to break a 125-125 tie.
LeBron was playing in his fourth All-Star Game, having been voted an All-Star starter in every year of his career except for his rookie season when he was listed as a guard and got shafted altogether because of Michael Redd. Against the best talent in the world, LeBron is averaging 24.3 points, 7.0 boards, and 5.8 assists in those four All-Star games.
