they said american meat needed more salt...

When I was seventeen we had two exchange student girls come to stay with my family. Mariana and Tatiana were 18 and 19 year old sisters from Estonia. Their stay with my family, for one semester at the college where my father is an English instructor, was a rocky one.. Long story short, they dismissed all forms of bridging the culture gaps including eating our cooking or cooking for us, refusing to see what american 17 year olds did, and generally staying locked up together in the tiny family guest-room. To say the least they did not leave a good impression with me when they departed following their first semester.
